ONCIDIUM
Ladda 'Salaya'

Ladda salaya belongs to the group of 'ear mule oncidiums' . They have very unconventional and brown colour flowers and wider leaves. With the purple and pink shades they appear as a 'designer orchid'!

Humidity for Oncidium

Interestingly oncidiums grow in a wide range of temperatures. However humidity is the one most important thing in successful cultivation. Many of the Indian cities like Mumbai have ideal conditions for Oncidiums similar to Kerala.

If grown in a low humidity condition please make sure that you at least have the following artificial means
A) Regular damping down of the green house stage with water. This is the easiest (outdoors)
B) Misting inside the green house (outdoors)
C) Humidity trays (indoor)
